Ray of Light in Language

博客网的问题依旧啊，我已经很久没用这个博客了，今天用了一次，手动更新首页无数次，还不能马上更新，服了。

今天睡到很晚才起床，下午给一个演讲比赛做评委，一共从幼儿到青年130名选手参加，到傍晚5点多才结束，很累。有些选手印象还是比较深的，但大多数很一般。不过最后一位比较特殊，他竟是一们初中英语教师，感觉他说的比我都好，对他来说参加比赛可以认识更多的人，可了解更多的事情。

吃完饭过，很困，就象现在。

这些年我一直想让自己的身体越来越好，可是随着年龄的增长，又不太容易做到这一点，我现在越发不爱运动，可以说是几乎不运动。至多出门办事回来，如果不太着急，就走上一个小时一直到家。我喜欢在家里呆着充分享受自己的时间，打扫房间、上网、背课、泡澡或看电影，大部分时间在上网，即使吃饭的时候，另一只手也拿着鼠标。

明天我会上街，求神保佑让我少花点儿钱！可我想给老公买一个羊毛衫，要是买好的，得一千多块，明天再说吧！另外就是，我以后尽量少下饭馆，一定一定！


要不是别的博客上不去，真不一定会在这儿留言。

today, i reveiwed the comments on one of my submmitted paper given by JCMC reviewers. i am really not able to make the problems they found clear. it is a shame. i have to admmit that i have read less works about both general linguistics, and language and gender according to their demands. however, i have to thank them for their suggestions. for a long time, i have been afraid of reading their comment lest it would disencourage me, and make me feel unconfident. but i have to face it if i want to go on my research and improve quickly. that is why i opened the comments today.

next week i am to Beijing to attend a international sociolinguistic meeting, and will read  my degree paper on which JCMC editors give many comments. during about 10 minutes lecture, it is difficult for any presenter states entire content of the paper. so, i would choose the valuable part  i think of my paper and revise a little in order to make it interesting and have less controversial ideas. can i?

      由于近日在学习和研究上没什么进展，想法也不多，所以没有对这个博客进行更新。今天一大早打开电脑就收到jcmc的来信，表示不能出版论文，并对编辑的评语做了大致的阅读，因为之前就没抱太大希望，所以也并未感到意外，但着实有些沮丧，同时感受到做学问之不易。评语中所道出的论文的不足短时间内我无法改进，所以很佩服那些能在国际权威期刊上发表论文的中国学者（尽管为数不多）。

     最近一直都在网上，但不太想搜索关于博客的文章，由其是今天，对于pew internet新发布的博客调察也没心思看。我不知道应该做什么和怎么做了。这个暑假是我最迷茫，进步最小的阶段。就在此时此刻，我不知道我发完了这个帖子以后应该做什么？

这几天都在看一些关于中西文化差异的文章。因为前几天在查看网页时，看到几个词汇非常有意思，它反映了西方社会的变迁引起的青年人价值观和人生观的变化。随后突然想写篇关于新词与文化的关系的文章。直到今天，我发现并不好写。语言变异和文化虽然关系密切，把二者联系起来并做一个深入的探讨并不容易。我还是先看看一些文章，看看能否找到一些灵感再说吧！

I have finished sampling weblogs today, and counted the frequencies of swear words, as I expected, male swear much more than females. I have no idea what I should do now; to research characteristics of the use of pronouns? Yes, I did, I counted the frequencies of pronouns in my previous corpus, and found that female use more pronouns. Can I wited an article about it? I am not sure that if it is valueble! Maybe not, I have to do something which will make me busy. This summar I will travel a lot, read a lot, write a lot, and lose weight a lot.

The weekend is ending. Two day's time, I made laundry, kept surfing all day, revised the article, and slept long. I have to get up early tomorrow morning to go to 'work'. I plan to watch soccer at two o'clock, can I?

I sampled some Livejournal blogs, 10 for females, and 10 for males. I want to find the swearing features of them, but found that, it is male, not female swear more. I will sample more, if see if the results is the same.
